15 Jan Nature, nurture and numbers: A recap of our 2023 annual conference
Nestled between the bush and the beach at the Murramarang Resort on the south coast of NSW, the BellchambersBarrett team convened for our annual conference.
We bonded, celebrated and reflected on the past year’s successes – and set our sights high for 2024.
Strength in numbers
From a team of just four in 2014 to now 76, people have always been at the heart of our work.
So, against the stunning backdrop of the NSW coastal wilderness (and through a wealth of stimulating workshops), our 2-day annual conference was a special opportunity to strengthen team bonds and celebrate our diverse community.
It was our first destination conference in three years – and we were eager to enjoy the fresh air, especially after last year’s conference in a Canberran hotel!
Recognising our people – and our principles
We took advantage of the team being together to recast our values and reflect on what makes BellchambersBarrett unique.
There were meaningful, team-wide discussions about how we each commit to displaying respect, integrity, trust and collaboration – every single day.
Throughout the conference, we got to know each other better and welcomed new faces – like those who joined us from Accrue and Deborah Poulton & Associates. Plus, we honoured our longest-standing employees, some of whom have been with us for over 10 years.
And another core value of ours? Appreciating people for their unique abilities and contributions to the team.
So, it was only natural for us to celebrate our team’s different professional and personal achievements – like receiving Australian citizenship or becoming a chartered accountant.
Nature and nurture
The final day gave us a chance to take our workplace friendships from the conference rooms to the coastline. Bushwalking, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking were just a few of the outdoor activities offered.
And our guest motivational speaker, Daniel Bull from Unstoppabull, inspired us with his tales, encouraging us to dream high and defy limits – as a team.
