Crossing the finish line – together
This year’s Canberra Times Marathon Festival saw BellchambersBarrett stretch and flex our running muscles. It was the perfect opportunity to show up as a team, kick personal goals – and cheer each other on.
Going the distance
Established in 1976, the annual Canberra Times Marathon Festival is the oldest city marathon in Australia. And in April this year, BellchambersBarrett decided to sign up and race to the finish line together.
Our team’s turnout spanned ages, backgrounds – and levels of stamina.
Some of our team members had never been into running, so they used this to kickstart their journey. Many of us trained for – and ran – our first-ever 5km race. While others took the chance to push for a 10km race, and even a half marathon!
Through rain or shine
Despite the cold and rainy weather on the day, our team persevered and showed up for a great time.
Everyone’s enthusiasm and spirit provided a warmth that resonated throughout the entire event. What’s more, many of us hit our personal bests that day!
Another heart-warming highlight?
Dylan, our manager, running the half marathon – while pushing his daughter in a pram. She definitely enjoyed the ride!
Same time next year?
Well done to all who participated in the run!
It was an event for the books, and one everyone can be proud of – for their individual accomplishments and our collective team spirit.
