“Spending time with our peers and clients is never a chore. And I love that.” – Vicki Sofatzis
After spending over a decade with a Big Four firm, Vicki Sofatzis was looking for a new challenge. BellchambersBarrett ticked all the right boxes for her – and then some. Here, Vicki shares her story with us.
A fresh start with the right people
After 12 years at a Big Four firm in Sydney, I was ready for a change.
At that time, I was working remotely while still based in Canberra, so I really missed the dynamics that come from working in a day-to-day team environment. I also wanted to reconnect with the local market.
And when I met the partners of BellchambersBarrett, I knew right away that these were the people I wanted to work with.
So in 2021, I joined the firm as a senior partner.
A firm that supports and encourages everyone
I love BellchambersBarrett’s capacity to care and give back to the community. Not all small-to-medium businesses show the same level of commitment to help those in need.
Even internally, the culture has been nothing but diverse and supportive. It’s amazing to be in an environment where everyone is encouraged to voice their ideas – regardless of experience.
We truly believe that each team member is an asset and can make a positive contribution.
People are the priority – always
Everyone here genuinely enjoys coming to work. Spending time with our peers and clients is never a chore. And I love that.
People and clients are the centre of our world – which is so important in professional services. And I’ve seen so many friendships form over time.
The best bit? Any company can talk about a healthy work-life balance. But here, it’s so much more than words. We actually put it into practice. And model it ourselves, every day.
It’s already been a year since I joined this firm – and I couldn’t be happier.
